Experience and approach
Detailed preparation across connected legal issues.
Victor Shulov, Esq., is a Senior Associate at Sharifov & Associates, PLLC, with over 16 years of experience representing clients in criminal defense and family law matters throughout New York. His primary focus is criminal defense, where he represents individuals charged with misdemeanors, felonies, white-collar offenses, and complex criminal investigations in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Shulov has extensive experience handling criminal cases across New York, including Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Nassau County, and Suffolk County. He represents clients at every stage of a criminal case—from arrest and arraignment through Grand Jury proceedings, hearings, negotiations, and trial. His approach emphasizes careful analysis of the prosecution’s evidence, identifying legal and factual weaknesses, and developing strategic defenses tailored to each case.
A significant portion of his practice is devoted to white-collar and financial crime defense, including Medicaid fraud, health care fraud, insurance fraud, bank and wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy-related investigations. He has experience handling complex financial matters involving government agencies and regulatory enforcement.
In addition to his criminal defense work, Mr. Shulov has extensive experience in Family Court matters in New York. He represents clients in child custody and visitation disputes, child support proceedings, family offense petitions, and orders of protection. His experience in both criminal and Family Court allows him to represent clients in cases where criminal allegations and family-law issues overlap, including domestic-violence-related matters.
Mr. Shulov also represents clients in uncontested divorces in New York Supreme Court. He guides spouses who agree on the terms of their divorce through each step of the process, from preparing a settlement agreement that addresses property, debts, spousal support, and, where children are involved, custody and child support, to preparing and filing the required court papers. His goal is to help clients complete the divorce efficiently, accurately, and with as little stress as possible.
Beyond litigation, Mr. Shulov drafts and reviews prenuptial agreements, residential and commercial leases, employment agreements, and business contracts. This broader legal background supports representation in matters involving overlapping criminal, family, and business issues.
